GLOBAL PEACE APPOINTS MAYESERO CHANCY MALOYA AS THE COUNTRY COORDINATOR FOR GLOBAL PEACE MALAWI

8th October 2024

Mayesero Chancy Maloya is a distinguished Alumni of Global Peace and the Educational Chair for the Malawi’s Southern Region of the Malawi Girl Guides Association. Mayesero is also a young woman with a wide experience in civic engagement, community development, organizational leadership and research work. Mayesero graduated from the University of Malawi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mayesero trained to acquire further skills in leadership and community development from the National Democratic Institute in Malawi. She is also an alumna of the Program for Young Politicians in Africa, facilitated by the Centre for Young Leaders. To date, Mayesero has actively contributed to several areas of community development, for which she is widely known for her true dedication to quality education, with the belief that education could be a powerful tool towards instilling proper human values in people for a progressive society.

From 2022-2023, Mayesero has further contributed to school retention of about 2000 plus learners, teens and mothers inclusive who dropped out of school during the Covid-19. Mayesero has a strong interest in good governance and women inclusion, which has compelled her break barriers and champion women involvement in circles of leadership. She is on record to have held a leadership position of a particular college political wing since 2018 contributing to a huge involvement of young people and women in politics. This move drastically changed the general political landscape of how young people present themselves in the circles of politics and leadership.

Mayesero has a strong appreciation for her exposition to modern world whiles living in a developing country. This exerted a unique challenge to her compelling her to feel indebted. Currently, Mayesero currently runs a community-based organisation in Malawi.

Global Peace welcomes Mayesero Chancy Maloya to the Global Peace Team and wishes her well in her new appointment.

Congratulations!!! From the Office of the Global Coordinator General, Global Peace, ACCORD, Durban, South Africa.
