Solomon Ateh is a Cameroonian Youth Envoy for Peace and Democracy and a distinguished Alumni of Global Peace. In 2018, he founded Bantu Voices, a digital media organization to support the efforts of civil society organizations working on conflict transformation in Cameroon. With extensive experience working at the intersection of peace and security, human rights and development communication at local and international international levels, he served as communication officer for different NGOs across Cameroon notably the Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, with and LUKMEF Cameroon and has also served with the International Youth Parliament as the Director for media and communication.
He is an alumnus of the Mandela Washington Fellowship at Indiana University USA, a flagship program of the US Department of State’s Young African Leader’s Initiative (YALI) holding the record of the lone Cameroonian to be selected into the prestigious fellowship while still an undergraduate. He is also a Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Enrichment Institute at Dartmouth College USA, a Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Professional Development Experience (PDE) at the Council on American Islamic Relations in Chicago and a fellow of the Cameroon Leadership Academy. He has served the Mandela Washington Fellows’ Association of Cameroon as the Peace Project Lead for the South West of the Country and briefly as the Public Relation’s Officer. He was the Convener and Moderator of the Global Peace UN75 Intergenerational Dialogue for Cameroon. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Conflict Resolution with a minor in International Relations from the University of Buea, Cameroon.
