GLOBAL PEACE ANCHORS 2022 PROGRAMMES ON COOPERATION AND SHARED VALUES FOR A PEACEFUL FUTURE

3rd August 2026

As the world navigated overlapping crises in 2022, Global Peace reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue, solidarity, and collective action.

In its review of the year, Global Peace noted that “Our 2022 programmes are founded on Building Cooperation and Shared Values for a Peaceful Future.”

From youth leadership to climate action, from human rights to food security, Global Peace convened leaders, communities, and institutions across continents with one goal: to turn shared challenges into shared solutions.

Cooperation in a Year of Crisis

2022 was marked by conflict, inflation, climate shocks, and growing mistrust between communities and institutions.

Against a backdrop of rapid population growth, urbanization, climate instability, economic volatility, mass migration, and nuclear risk, Global Peace hosted a series of dialogues, trainings, and partnerships designed to bridge divides and place people at the centre of decision-making.

Peace grows when knowledge is shared,” said Kobla Asamani, Global Coordinator General of Global Peace.  In 2022, we chose cooperation over division. We chose to listen, to learn from each other, and to act together. That is how we build a peaceful future.

Programmes Grounded in Shared Values

All of Global Peace’s 2022 programmes were guided by core values of human dignity, equity, sustainability, and solidarity.

Key highlights included:

1. Youth & Education: Empowering young people as peacebuilders through leadership summits and digital literacy training.

2. Women & Human Rights: Amplifying women’s voices in peace and security processes and advancing gender equality.

3. Environment, Food & Water Connecting local communities and policymakers to build resilience against climate and food insecurity.

4. Health & Humanitarian Action: Supporting vulnerable populations and strengthening community-based responses.

5.  Peace, Security & Global Goals: Advancing dialogue on disarmament, conflict prevention, and the SDGs.

Each programme brought together diverse stakeholders — from students and civil society to diplomats and industry — to co-create action plans and knowledge products.

Building Forward Together

The lessons of 2022 will directly shape Global Peace’s 2023 work, with an increased focus on youth leadership and knowledge sharing as tools for peace.

Peaceful coexistence requires both ethical commitment and collective responsibility. When we build cooperation and stand on shared values, we secure not just projects, but people and humanity’s future,” Kobla Asamani, Global Coordinator General of Global Peace underscored.

As a catalyst for collaborative action, Global Peace continues to bring together innovators, implementers, influencers and investors. The goal is to harness 21st century creativity to find practical, cost-effective solutions to global challenges with local and global consequences.

Working through young people across the world and key stakeholders, Global Peace will become an ecosystem for Ideas, Innovators, Influencers, Investors and Implementers. This will create a hub to find practical solutions to global challenges enhancing conflict prevention and strengthening the global multi-lateral system.
