The conference brought together over 400 university officials from across Africa including the CEOs of the Association of African Universities (AAU) member institutions and various other key stakeholders such as rectors, vice-chancellors, presidents of African universities, as well as ministers of education. Held every two years, the conference analyses themes linked to priorities for the development of higher education. The 2019 theme focused on “The Role of Higher Education Institutions in Promoting the Continental Education Strategy for Africa”.

Recognizing the aim of Global Peace to work with young people across the world, the conference was a strategic platform for Global Peace to present the 100 Inter-Generational Dialogues (IGDs) to be convened in 100 cities across the world. The IGDs will bring young people to dialogue with their decision-makers on the challenges facing the our future.
