The Office of Development Initiatives, under auspices of the Secretary General of the All Africa Students Union, in partnership with the African Centre for Constructive Resolution to Disputes (ACCORD) Global Peace initiative, and in collaboration with the SDG ACTION CAMPAIGN’s MY World Survey, are working on an SDG Monitoring Project designed to determine the knowledge and awareness level of SDG’s progress. AASU is of the conviction that for Africa to realise the SDG by 2030, it is prudent to ensure that students and youth in Africa are involved in bringing their voices into the official debates of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
HAVE YOUR SAY – The United Nations wants to hear from you. Global Peace wants to hear from you. AASU wants to hear from you. The future of Africa wants to hear from you. Are you aware of the Sustainable Development Goals or ‘Global Goals’ signed by 193 World Leaders at the UN in 2015? Whether you do or you don’t, please log on to igdsurvey.org and cast your vote! Have your say!
Why does my vote matter?
January 2016 saw the launch of the SDG, commonly known as the ‘Global Goals’ – a ground-breaking plan signed by world leaders at the UN with 17 Goals to build a better world for everyone by 2030.
The survey questions directly link to the Goals and your answers will help feed into the UN’s and governments’ monitoring of progress on these Goals, raising awareness of important issues and giving a ‘people’s perspective’ from the ground, in real-time.
Please share the MY WORLD survey link igdsurvey.org on all What’s App Platforms, Twitter Pages, Facebook Pages, Instagram, and through emails and other media to Africa Students within and outside the continent. Let’s get every Student and Youth voice in Africa to speak their mind on this universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
