GLOBAL PEACE APPOINTS AMINTA PERMPOONWIWAT AS THE COUNTRY COORDINATOR FOR GLOBAL PEACE THAILAND

Aminta (Aimee) Permpoonwiwat is a distinguished Alumni of Global Peace and Thai sustainability advocate and Chancellor’s Scholar at Vanderbilt University. Driven by her interest in the intersection between quality education, inequality, and climate change, Aminta founded Youth Mentorship Project. The organization has engaged over a thousand students from vulnerable groups in the values of sustainability and resilience through STEAM subjects.

In amplifying her work, Aminta has represented the voice of Thai youth on the international stage at the United Nations, including the Human Rights Council, the ECOSOC Youth Forum and the Youth4Climate events. She is part of the SDGs Youth Panel for the UN in Thailand and hopes to build an inclusive society where everyone has access to their human rights, regardless of their gender, race, or ethnicity. Aminta is a Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador and the Youth Advisor to the Special Rapporteur on human rights, safe drinking water and sanitation.
